26-year-old pregnant woman demands naming daughter after her late childhood dog, 31-year-old husband refuses, claiming it will negatively impact their child in the long-run: 'I'd be weirded out if I were named after a dog'

Gwyneth Paltrow was the first to do it when she named her first child, Apple. Then the Kardashians came along and started naming their children after directions, bible verses, and the weather. Then we were blessed with the TikTok mogul, Nara Smith. A woman whose children's names were so bizarre that they left many of us speechless, and not just because we couldn't pronounce half of them! 

But what makes this story so unique is the fact that this heavily pregnant woman is soul-set on one name, of which her decision she can not be swayed away from. The only issue…it just happens to be her childhood dog's name, and let's just say he's looking down at them from puppy heaven with the same thoughts as us, 'Wf are you guys doing?' 

Her husband has tried everything to stop her, all his veto cards have been played, yet she still won't budge…What more can her husband do to ensure that his gorgeous baby girl does not share the name of a 25-pound ball of fluff, with a missing front tooth and a devastating limp…

    Individual_Ad_9213 Since OP is being vague, I'm not sure how to rule because I think that it all depends on the actual name. If it's something like Joy, it might fly. I'm not sure what sort of a dog's name is remotely close to Lucky; but I do know a least one man whose nickname is Lucky.

    Crazyandiloveit I think you will be TA if you don't have thar conversation with your wife. You will be a parent soon and you'll have to advocate for your baby when you think it's necessary, even against your wife (this can be done polite/ gentle obviously).

    Loving Wisdom NTA. Naming a child requires a yes from both parents. If you aren't on board with naming your child something that's the end of it. You both need to work together and come up with something together.
